Watch on-demand - Logistics 2.0: Improve inaccurate addresses to reduce operational costs

Address data is fundamental to every logistics business, and having an accurate address is the difference between a successful and a failed delivery. Bad addresses cost logistics companies millions every year. In 2020, over 1 billion packages were delivered in Australia alone and with ecommerce continuing it’s massive growth  globally, reducing inaccurate addresses has never been more important.

So why haven’t logistics companies been able to come up with a solution yet?

Most logistics and delivery companies validate 3rd party addresses by cross-checking them with their own static address databases or 3rd party APIs.However none of these solutions are a ‘silver bullet’ and will not be enough in most cases: these solutions will only tell you that anaddress is potentially incorrect,  but they won’t tell you why it’s wrong or more importantly, how to fix it.

They will also only validate the fields provided by the customer at checkout but won’t tell you which fields are missing. And the issue with in house data sources is that they are rarely kept up to date due to the effort required to maintain them and they are unable to cater for typos, incorrect or missing components.

In our next webinar with the Google Maps Platform team, we’ll talk you through how to solve inaccurate addresses and we’ll explore why this is so important for your business and how fixing this issue can generate new revenue opportunities. Scroll below for more detail.
